For the second year in a row, St. Kilian no hit St. Thomas. Tyler Byrnes and Chris Crowder combined to pitch the no-hitter. Tyler started and was sharp. Tyler struck out six over three innings to earn his first win of the spring season. Chris Crowder came on and finished things off K'ing three St. Thomas batters.
On offense, Andrew Ocasio had two hits and four RBIs to give Drew the team lead in RBIs with 12. Jordan McCauley and PJ Spadalik continued to battle for the team lead in batting average, both hitting around .550. Jordan had two doubles, three RBIs and made a nice catch on a line drive to the right centerfield gap. PJ had two hits, two RBIs and two stolen bases. The Saints improved to 2-0 in eighth grade CYO play. Final Score: Saints 13, St. Thomas 0.

With the score East Rockaway 12, Saints 0, Nico Rivera got things going with a two-run single up the middle followed by a Brendan Nocella RBI double and RBI singles by Matt Santamaria and Mike Hofmann. The Saints scored seven times. Chris Lopez pitched outstanding. In the bottom of the fifth the Saints scored six more runs to take a 13-12 lead. Brendan and Nick Panza hit back-to-back RBI doubles, followed by an RBI single from PJ Spadalik and a two-run single by Mike Hofmann. Chris retired the Rocks in order in the sixth and picked up his first win of 2008. The Saints tacked on two more runs before Andrew Ocasio came on to pitch the final two innings and earn the save. Final Score: Saints 15, Rocks 13.
With the win the Saints improved their overall record to 8-0-1 and are in first place (4-0-1) in the NTB 14U division.
