To celebrate the holiday, Big Friends in Mrs. Vahling’s third grade class and Little Friends in Mrs. Knudsen’s kindergarten class decorated gingerbread houses with frosting and candy. The Big Friends helped their Little Friends with the task. The culmination of the
cooperative activities was a Gingerbread Scavenger Hunt that took the children into the principal’s office.
This is just one of the many planned experiences that Big Friends/Little Friends do throughout the school year. These experiences enable the older students to feel empowered by helping others and also provide Little Friends with great role models. No one ever said that learning can’t be fun.
