Farmingdale High School Announces Class of 2014 Salutatorian

The Farmingdale School District is proud to announce that Minhal Ahmed has been named Farmingdale High School’s Class of 2014 Salutatorian. Minhal earned a 104.858 grade point average during his four-year academic career at Farmingdale High School.

“We are extremely proud of Minhal as he strives to learn both in and out of the classroom,” said Jill Greeney, Farmingdale High School Guidance Counselor. “Minhal is extremely humble and is respected and admired by his peers. He is very deserving of this honor and we expect to hear great things of him in his future.”

Minhal received a score of ‘5’ on all of his Advanced Placement exams, the highest score possible. He also qualified as a National Merit Scholarship semi-finalist during the 2013-2014 school year. Outside the classroom, Minhal was an avid participant in the school’s Science Bowl team as well as the Science Olympiad and Mathlete programs. In addition, Minhal volunteers his time to tutor his fellow classmates in math and physics, and volunteers at the Nassau Medical Center and his local library.

Minhal will attend Northeastern University in the fall to study bioengineering.
