Bringing in the spirit of the holidays, the Village of Farmingdale recently held two tree lighting events.
On Dec. 3, Farmingdale residents amassed at the village green for the Tricentennial lighting of the Christmas Tree.
During the ceremony, children and parents, gazed in amazement as the lights on the Christmas tree were illuminated.
This year’s ceremony also included performances by the South Shore Brass Ensemble and the Saltzman East Memorial Senior Chorus. Just outside the gazebo, onlookers joined in as the performers played some classic Christmas tunes.
The second tree lighting ceremony was held on Dec. 6, in Gerngras Park on Staples Street. This tree lighting ceremony was the first ever to be held at the park.
People from Farmingdale and other neighboring communities came out to watch in amazement as both trees brightened up the night sky.
