Ortiz, Helen M., 85, of Farmingdale passed away Feb. 5. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Ortiz. Loving mother of Theresa Randall (Rich) of Orange City, FL, Mary-Ann Lindblad (Marty) of Farmingdale and Roseanne Warfield (Lee) of Swanee, GA. Cherished grandmother of Samantha, Amanda, Martin, Allison and Leigh Ann. Born 1927 in Jersey City, NJ, one of 12 children, Helen was unable to complete high school due to illness. She worked tirelessly to obtain a GED, eventually earning a nursing degree. Her love and concern for the elderly resulted in a nursing career lasting more than 20 years at Daleview Care Center. A prayer service was held Friday, Feb. 8, at the funeral home, with interment following at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Donations in Helen’s name may be sent to The Epilepsy Foundation of L.I. Borzel, Florence P., 91, of Bethpage, passed away Feb. 5. Beloved wife of 70 years to Anthony. Loving mother of Janet Schaaf (Pete), Maureen Patricia Zitani (Brian) and James (Dorothy).
