Bethpage Pharmacy, in a real close nail biter, won their second in a row by edging out Zwanger Pesiri Radiology 10-9. Barco jumped out with two in the bottom half of the first on a sac fly by Kevin Moloney and an RBI hit by Terry McPartland, but Zwanger tied it up in the third.
Farmingdale Titans Football and Cheerleading league will hold registration on Friday, May 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, May 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Allen Park, in Farmingdale. Children are guaranteed playing time regardless of experience or skill level.

The Farmingdale wrestling team donated a set of 23 singlets to the Long Beach wrestling program to help them rebuild after Hurricane Sandy. The custom-sublimated singlets were designed and manufactured by Steven Panarelli and his apparel company Reversible Lifestyles located in Farmingdale. Panarelli was the Nassau County Wrestling Champion at 171 lbs for the Dalers in 2003.
For John Hanc, of Farmingdale, racing the Boston Marathon was the culmination of a week doing a lot of press for his new book, The B.A.A. at 125: The Official History of the Boston Athletic Association, 1887-2012, which tells the story of the oldest marathon in the country, and the third-largest marathon in the world.
“It was a great week…and an hour and half later it fell apart,” says Hanc. “My business concerns seemed to shrink in light of the terrorist attacks.”
The Farmingdale Winter Boys Track and Field team has recently been named as Conference I Champions and also the Nassau County Runners-Up at the annual awards dinner. The Over the Hill Gang softball league opened its 38th season on April 19 at Allen Park. The league thanks Town Supervisor John Venditto, Legislator Michael Venditto and Councilman Joe Pinto for helping with the opening day festivities.
Nine members of the Farmingdale High School Varsity Boys’ Swimming and Diving team were among those honored by the Nassau County Boys Swim Coaches Association as the top swimmers and divers in the county. To be invited to the event, the boys had to finish in the top 10 in the division and county competitions.
