After three tough loses in April against St. Anthony’s 16-12, Garden City 18-15 and Wantagh 23-15, the Lady Dalers lacrosse team regrouped and put together three important wins to start off May.
Isabella Corrao and Kelly Ann Keenan, continue to lead the Lady Dalers softball team recently. In the last four games, Corrao has pitched a season-high 17 strikeouts, a one-hitter, a two-hitter, and her second no-hitter of the season. In conference play, the Lady Dalers are 7-3 against the most elite competition in Nassau County.
The 2010 Farmingdale Lady Dalers JV Softball Team was off to a rough start recently. With the team consisting mostly of freshman and having moved from Conference 3 to Conference 1, Coach Passante had her work cut out for her.
The Dalers’ Boys Lacrosse team went 3-0 recently to improve their Conference 1 record to 3-0 and 5-2 overall.
The girls of the seventh-grade St. Kilian CYO volleyball team, coached by Patty Johnson, recently clinched the first-place spot in their division with a regular season finish record of 25 wins and five losses.
On Sunday, April 25, the Girl Scouts of Nassau County will host its inaugural “Girls Go the Distance” family walkathon and fundraiser at the Jones Beach Boardwalk, according to Oyster Bay Town Councilman Anthony Macagnone.
After losing their starting defense last year, the Lady Daler’s lacrosse team went against a big rival, Massapequa. At 22:25 Danielle Doherty scored for Massapequa as the Lady Chiefs controlled the ball the first five minutes of the game, and had the Lady Dalers on defense.
Swimmers of all skill-levels are invited to enjoy a fun-filled morning while raising funds for a worthy cause at Winthrop-University Hospital’s Ninth Annual Swim-a-Thon on Sunday, April 18 from 7 to 11:30 a.m. at Hofstra University’s Swim Center. Open to swimmers ages six and older, the Swim-A-Thon will raise vital funds for the Hospital’s Child Life Program through which certified Child Life Specialists utilize play and education to improve the understanding of medical procedures; teach relaxation techniques to help the patients cope with illness or surgery, and provide emotional support for the entire family.
