Off Season? What’s Off Season?

Friday, 13 August 2010 00:00

The Farmingdale High School Wrestling Team and coaches hosted a Wrestling ‘Summer Slam’ Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 7th at the Farmingdale High School. Many of the Farmingdale High School wrestlers have been attending various camps throughout the summer to continue their training; getting ready for the upcoming 2010-2011 wrestling season. The tournament was a great way to show off their new moves. Close to 200 wrestlers from across Long Island, the five boroughs and Westchester attended the tournament. Thanks to all three coaches, who ran the head table, the tournament ran smoothly and effortlessly allowing the majority of the wrestlers to get 3-4 matches. Also on hand were many alumni to help run the event; without them it would not have been a success. In addition the team wishes to thank The Bagel Hut, The Garcia Family, The Schultz Family, The Rosen Family, The Waszkiewicz Family, Charles Cottone, JV Coach Simons and Varsity Coach Weidler for their constant support and generosity. It was a huge success.
