The Lady Daler’s continue to be the only undefeated team in Nassau County. Their present record is 11-0 in Conference I League AA III. They picked up two more wins this past week under the direction of Coaches Laura Malone and Brandon Oppenheim.
Against Valley Stream Central, the Dalers were down 2-0. In the bottom of the third inning, Samantha Vitale scored the first run off an Emily Dorso hit. With the score 2-1, the sixth inning single by Kelly Ann Keenan brought Kat Zabielski across the plate to tie the game at two. In the top of the eighth inning, the Lady Daler defense shined as Valley Stream Central had a runner on at first with one out. Off a sacrifice bunt, pitcher Stephanie Ringbauer threw to first base covered by Samantha Vitale for the second out. As the Valley Stream runner was trying to advance to third, Vitale threw to Kristie Summus for the tag and the double play to end the inning. In the bottom of the eighth, Arielle Hornedo got on base with a bunt. She advanced to third off Emily Dorso’s sacrifice bunt. Kat Zabielski then drove in Hornedo. The Dalers won 3-2. Pitcher Stephanie Ringbauer had nine strikeouts.
The next match up for Farmingdale was against Calhoun. The Lady Dalers won 9-0. They produced quite an offensive performance. Kat Zabielski had a hot bat nailing a single, double, and triple.
