Bar-Boy beat Singletons 23-19 in a special Thursday night edition of Over the Hill Gang tournament action. Singleton’s jumped to an 11-5 lead, but Bar-Boy tightened their defense and came roaring back. The biggest inning was the 8th.
The team scored 10 runs with 15 batters taking swings. Everyone has to hit to beat Singleton’s and that what happened Thursday.
Frank Badalamenti had 7 RBIs and that’s with two drives hitting the light pole robbing him of two homers.
Lino Raspanti was also hot, with 3 hits and 4 RBIs. Tom Debona, Tom Gemma and Joe Scotti had 3 hits and multiple RBIs on the night. Darrin Simmons was on base 4 times with 2 hits and 2 walks.
In the previous week’s report: Bar-Boy beat Moby Drugs 17 to 12 in 1st round action of the Over the Hill Gang post-season tournament. Bar-Boy kept the lead throughout the game, scoring in 7 of 8 innings.
Moby also playerd well, scoring in 6 of 8 innings. Key action: Frank Badalamente had 2 home runs, 6 RBIs and was 3 for 3.
Bob Liese was 1 for 3 with a key home run and 2 RBIs. Darren Simon was 3 for 3- all singles and 1 RBI.
Steve Rose hitting last was 3 for 3 (2 singles and a triple) and 1 RBI.
Lino Raspanti was on base 3 times (a triple, single and on base with an error- he scored 3 times and was 3 for 4).
Moby kept the game close, but Bar-Boy managed to stay ahead earning a key victory.
