The 2009 cheer season came to a successful end for the Farmingdale Hawks at the NY Cheer Challenge at Bay Shore High School last week. In the first session of the day the six-year-old Hawks took first place. During the second session the eight-year-olds took an honorable mention and the ten-year-olds took second. In the final session the 11-year-olds took second place. The 12 and 13-year-olds, many of whom were cheering for the last time as a Hawk, took home an honorable mention.
The hard work the girls put in three or four times per week from August first through the middle of November every year is incredible and wouldn’t be possible without the commitment of their families, team moms and coaches.
To the girls who just completed their senior season, many of whom came all the way up through the Hawks; Jen Castrogiovanni, Christine Dentato, Alexis DiMartino, Megan Foertsch, Briana Foran, Briana Hegarty, Lydia Kuchmak, Diana Prendergast, Alise Schendorf, Gia Villante, Lauren Wynne, Tyleen Lopez, Kristina Matul and Paula Morales, your parents and organization are proud of you. Good Luck next year at the high school.
