The Floral Park Knights of Columbus bowlers took a night off from their pin punishing at Sterling Lanes, showing a not-so-local-like effort with only 10 of the keglers making The Elite List.
Mike Gallagher took top honors with a sizzling 240 single to post a 615 set as Paul Bergstrom grabbed the second spot with a 210 loner, 571 total, followed by "Knobby" Gregory's 212 single that led to a 568 total. Richie Biggin rolled a solid 557, Ed Hackimer tailed him at 549, with a 199 "almost" in his count, while Charley Bingold was putting a 527 on the books. Mike Derby and Tony Morena did a "brother" act at 512. Paul Mastronardi downed 510 sticks and Joe O'Donnell chimed in with a 501 to be the caboose on The Star Train.
Team action saw the John O'Grady-led What-a-team II blank Eddy Goodloe's Goodo's 4 in a 7-0 rout, while Ed Hackimer was leading his Cliffhangers to a 5-2 win over the Sean Brady-led Bombers. The Hurricanes, bossed by Greg Simicich, did a 5-2 number on the Sons and Fathers, with Fred Dorgler Sr. as "Top Daddy". The Munsters, with Rich Lahey in the driver's seat, topped the Paul Simonetti-led Three Blind Mice in a 5-2 encounter and, ending the night's action, the On-Timers, with Mike Gallagher calling signals, handed Jim Kearney and his Drink, Drank, Drunk quartet a 7-0 whitewashing.
