Village of Floral Park Dedicates 'Heritage Park'
Residents of the Village of Floral Park recently joined to dedicate its newest park, Heritage Park, built at no cost to the taxpayers. A plaque, commemorating the village's founder, John Lewis Childs, was also unveiled at the ceremony. The new park is the result of the efforts of local residents, with major support from Cablevision Systems Corporation.

Wildflower Meadow Planted By Floral Park Conservation Society
The FP Conservation Society successfully completed its first planting task inside the fences of Centennial Gardens and Bird Sanctuary with the seeding of the wildflower meadow in the eastern basin. Hundreds of hours of labor went into the effort to clear the designated area of decades of broken glass, cans and other debris in preparation for the wildflower seeds.

The New Hyde Park Inn was rockin' and rollin' last Saturday evening, as the Floral Park Knights of Columbus bowlers and their ladies celebrated the end of another "blockbuster" season - one that saw many outstanding performances by the local keglers Thursday night.

Successful FPYC Run
Over 200 runners participated in this year's Belmont Stakes Festival Floral Park Youth Council 5K, One Mile and Pee Wee Runs held last Sunday, June 3, running through the streets of Floral Park and the backstretch of Belmont Park. The race activities will conclude around 10 a.m. when the awards program will be presented in the Village Hall auditorium.
