A male body was found shot dead at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday morning, Aug. 15, at 229 Jericho Turnpike in Floral Park. The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Daniel Oscar Pomales of Queens Village. Police reports said Pomales was found in the basement of the Jericho Turnpike office building, which housed his online vacation property rental company. According to Homicide Squad detectives, a worker arriving at On Line Rentals discovered Pomales, a victim of several gunshot wounds, lying on the floor in the rear room.
Neighbors and nearby store owners paced the sidewalks as Floral Park Police, the Nassau County Crime Scene Search Unit and the Nassau County Highway Patrol combed the scene. The Homicide Squad requests public assistance in locating the victim's vehicle, a 1996 blue Geo Prism, New York Registration W475XF. Anyone with information pertaining the vehicle's whereabouts is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
