The Garden City Village Board of Trustees held their annual organization meeting on the evening of April 5, at Village Hall. Justice Allen S. Mathers administered the oath of office to incumbents Donald T. Brudie, John J. Watras, Nicholas Episcopia and new trustee Brian Daughney.
The mayor read the report of the village clerk for results of the annual village election held on March 16, 2010. The mayor stated that the final election results for trustee two-year terms: Donald T. Brudie, 617 votes; John J. Watras, 658 votes; Nicholas P. Episcopia, 546 votes; and Brian Daughney, 532 votes. Write-in candidates Ron Tadross received 342 votes; and Ray Rudolph, 333 votes. A small amount of votes were also noted for other candidates.
According to Village Clerk Brian Ridgway, the village election had the strongest voter turnout in 10 years. A total of 957 residents voted. Tadross and Rudolph received a showing of support despite announcing their candidacy two days before the election.
