Oscar Wilde once said, “After a good dinner, one can forgive anybody, even one’s own relations.” If that’s the case, then my best advice would be to set up a date with your worst enemy to attend the next Chef’s Table event held at the Garden City Hotel. In a periodic dinner series that got kicked off last December, Executive Chef Michael Mandato and his team have arranged to prepare a five-star, multi-course meal that promises to not only sate your appetite, but enrapture the senses. In Betsy Abraham’s fine Garden City Life Weekend cover story, she describes being fortunate enough to sample delicacies like crab cake with chipotle aioli, Asian pulled short ribs, lobster bread pudding and Tahitian vanilla bean créme brulée. It’s all enough to want to make you want to ring up that obnoxious relative you dread seeing every Thanksgiving.
