The Garden City Recreation Department is pleased to announce its upcoming Gazebo Concert Series. The concerts are held at the Gazebo on the corner of Hilton and Stewart avenues and begin at 7:15 pm. So bring a chair, come join us and enjoy! The concerts will be:

The 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines Association will host its 3rd Annual Golf Outing at Eisenhower Park Aug. 3 to raise funds for the support of local Marine Reservists and their families.
The Long Island Roadrunners Running Club started its 33rd year of running at Eisenhower Park, Wednesday, May 6 with a 5K race.
The Garden City Recreation Department is proud to present the Community Park Mini Golf Weekend Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28. At various times during the weekend there will be music, games and contests. We will have a special guest appearance by the Long Island Ducks’ own Quackerjack at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 27. So come on down and get an autograph. Also, when you play a round of mini golf on Saturday you are automatically entered in a drawing for a chance to win an autographed Long Island Ducks baseball or some Ducks tickets and other prizes. On Sunday, June 28, from 1 to 4 p.m. we will have music and various contests for all ages. The new Snack Bar will be open for food and refreshments all weekend and we will have various mini golf discounts throughout the weekend and a few surprises too! Sophomore right fielder James Roche (Arlington/Arlington HS) heads a list of five Bentley University players who were recognized recently when the Northeast-10 Conference announced its 2009 All-Conference baseball team.
Zach and Alex Morris, twin brothers and sophomores at Garden City High School, competed as singles players in the Nassau County Tennis Championships held at Oceanside High School May 9 and 10.
The Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for the camps listed below. Registration is by mail only and is subject to age/grade restrictions. Children must be the age listed by the start date of the camp in order to attend. Information on each camp is listed in the articles below. Please make selections carefully as fees are not returnable.

To support Charlie’s Champions – a foundation created by Tara and John Schmitt in the name of their son, Charlie, who is currently a patient at Winthrop-University Hospital’s Cancer Center for Kids (CCFK) – almost 300 people including Garden City residents and their friends and family from Manhattan, Manhasset and points east participated in the Foundation’s legendary “Rage in the Cage” paddle tennis tournament.
