Adult Dance Performance Group Now Forming

Looking for a fun way to work out?  A dance performance group for women, led by dance director Felicia Lovaglio, meets every Saturday at 10 a.m. for an hour to learn dance routines which will lead up to the Dance Student Showcase in the spring. Even if you do not want to perform but love to dance, this is a great way to stay in shape and have fun. Class will begin on Saturday, Oct. 27 and will run through May at a cost of $216. Registration Begins For Junior Paddle For Ages 9 And Up 

The recreation department will offer junior paddle lessons at Garden City Community Park according to the following schedule:

Ages 9-11

Mondays from 4-5 p.m.

Thursdays from 4 -5 p.m.

 

Ages 12 And Up

Mondays from 5 - 6 p.m.

Thursdays from 5 – 6 p.m.

 Each five-week lesson program will teach the fundamental of a platform tennis game in a fun setting. Classes will begin the week of Nov. 1 and are open to any resident of the Inc. Village of Garden City in these age groups. Each session will cost $125. To register, please visit the recreation office at 108 Rockaway Ave.  

 

Adult Programs At The Field House

The recreation adult programs in the field house began on Tuesday, Oct. 16 according to the following schedule:

Monday Men’s Open Basketball 7:30-10 p.m.

Men’s Over-30 Basketball 7:30-10 p.m.

Wednesday

Men’s Open Basketball 7:30-10 p.m.

Men’s Over-40 Basketball 7:30-10 p.m.

Thursday Adult Volleyball 7:30–10 p.m.

Adult Soccer 8:30 – 10 p.m.

These programs are open to residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City college age or older.  All programs listed are free of charge and strictly pickup.  A picture ID is required to sign up for any program.  For further information, please contact the recreation office at 516-465-4075.
