Glen Cove School Budget
On June 18 from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., Glen Cove residents will be given a second and final opportunity to vote on their proposed $44 million school budget. The budget offered to voters this time is the same spending plan that was defeated in May by a 45-vote margin. The tax increase, however, has been lowered to 4.99 percent because of new revenues the district will receive. The tax rate is at $49.55 per $100 of assessed valuation. Transportation for all high school students 1.5 miles but less than 15 miles from their schools, two modulars for Gribbin School and additional staff are included in the budget.

North Shore School Budget Revised
The North Shore School District Board of Education met on Monday, June 1, to consider strategy following last week's school budget official defeat by a two-vote margin. The defeat was determined in a recanvass of ballots and the scrutiny of affidavit ballots. Over 125 concerned residents turned out to comment during the meeting.

Glen Cove Girls Junior Varsity Lacrosse
It has certainly been an incredible lacrosse season, primarily because the girls had an uncanny desire to learn and play to a high standard of expertise. The competition grew tougher as the season progressed and we were able to acomplish many new types of offense and defense.
