Glenwood Landing Considers Ferry Proposal
Residents and business owners in Glenwood Landing and Glen Head are thinking over a proposal that would bring into their community a 70-250 passenger ferry and marina. On Jan. 13, the Glen Head/Glenwood Landing Business Association sponsored an informational meeting regarding that proposal made by property owners Frank Barker and Cliff Rudolph. Their property is located on Shore Road in Glenwood Landing, adjacent to the LILCO and Mobil plants.

Russian Ballet School Forms Junior Company
Serious ballet students from around Long Island are traveling to Sea Cliff to participate in Russian Ballet School's new Junior Company. The Junior Company was introduced on Dec. 19 during the school's open house when the first students chosen for the Company gave a demonstration performance for parents and guests.

The Glen Cove Track Team returned to Nassau Community College this past Monday to compete in the championships for the Friendship Games. Senior Dan Cavallo took first place in the mile run and was the overall points mile champion for the three Friendship Games meets.

Vikings Lose Heartbreaker to Jericho
The North Shore Vikings ice hockey team lost a heartbreaker on Jan. 17 to the Jericho Jayhawks by a score of 4-3. The Vikings who led most of the game, surrendered the tying goal to the Jayhawks with 2:47 minutes left to play. Jericho followed that tally with the game-winner just one minute and 39 seconds later as Jayhawk center Ross Goldman completed a hat trick by scoring his third goal of the game.
