Three of North Shore Vikings' Basketball best are selected to join Nassau's list of elite players.
After a successful 2000/2001 season the North Shore Vikings Basketball team, led by Coach Paul Girolamo, reached their division's playoffs (with an 8-4 record and a season closing emotional victory over key rival Manhasset High School) after a 13-year "drought." The reward for this successful season came as three of our key players were selected to represent us as county and conference elite players.
Robert Rodriguez, a forward for the Vikings, who is also the Vikings' Football team QB, and this year's MVP for Nassau's All-County Football game, was selected to represent us at the Conference level. Ray Chaputian, also a star of the Vikings' Baseball team and this year's basketball team's Most Improved Player, was selected to represent Nassau County at the Conference level. Chris Pombar also a star on the Vikings Soccer Team, the Viking's Basketball team top scorer, this year's Most Valuable Player, and last year's Nassau's top scorer, was for the second year in a row selected to represent the North Shore Vikings at the County level.
Our congratulations to these three seniors for honoring our school and for having a great year.
