Community Stands Tall United in Grief, Support and Hope
Over a week has gone by since Sept. 11, the day terrorists attacked our nation at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and Pennsylvania, and there are six cars in the Fox Navigation parking lot on Garvies Point Road in Glen Cove which haven't been moved since then. The people of Glen Cove, Glen Head, Sea Cliff, Glenwood Landing and Locust Valley have responded to the tragedy with an unprecedented outpouring of love and support for the victims' families and for their local heroes who are desperately trying to find survivors at the former site of the Twin Towers.

Glen Cove High School Big Red Sports
On Friday, Sept. 7, Glen Cove High School's Big Red boys soccer opened the 2001 season with a first round win in the Manhasset Invitational Soccer Tournament. Big Red shut out Carey High School, 5 - 0. Jose Oliva had a hat trick, scoring 2 goals in the first half and one in the second half.

Under the clear blue skies and bright sun two weeks ago, the Pee Wee Cardinals opened their season against the Broad Channel Shamrocks. Many of these 7 and 8 year olds were taking the field of play for the first time.
