Milking the Cow on Glen Street
If you pass in front of Chavez Designs on the corner of Glen and School Streets, you will find that the New York Cow has been replaced with the Americow, a bovine draped in the American flag. The New York Cow is said to be having a well-deserved rest after being on the horns of the dilemma involving her owners and the city government over the past couple of weeks.

Steve Gavosto on a Par for US Open
Steve Gavosto of Glen Cove sat patiently waiting for the latest computations by the USGA (United States Golf Association) to verify his golf handicap index. When it was finally posted the index came in at 1.2 which was just 0.2 below what was needed to submit his application for the qualifier for the US Open to be held at Bethpage State Black Course in June. With the deadline only a day away, the application and fee had to be driven to the USGA administration headquarters in New Jersey.

North Shore's Men's Track Team Report
The North Shore Men's track team won their first meet of the season by 1/2 point on April 8 in Oyster Bay. North Shore won the meet with 66 points, Seaford with 65 1/2 points, Oyster Bay with 64 points, and Cold Spring Harbor with 38 1/2 points.
