Police Make Arrests in Carney Street Stabbing
Glen Cove Police Detectives John Nagle and Steve Vetrone, together with Nassau County Second Squad Detective Jeannie Fitzpatrick and the Juvenile Aid Bureau, reported the arrests of four men in connection with a stabbing that took place in Glen Cove on Sunday, June 2.

On Friday, May 10, the Finley Middle School Big Red Band, under the direction of Nicholas Carbuto, performed in the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) major ensemble festival held at Hofstra University.

Craig Hansen Wins Diamond Award
Last week at the Baseball All County Awards Dinner, Craig Hansen of Glen Cove High School received the highest award a high school baseball player can achieve in Nassau County, the Diamond Award. The award is given to the best pitcher and position player in Nassau County baseball. Craig is the first Big Red player to receive this award. Craig will be pitching next fall for St. John's University on a full baseball scholarship.

North Shore Storm Clinches Crown
The North Shore Storm Boys Under 10 team won the Long Island Junior Soccer League Nassau Division 4 championship with a pair of convincing wins. On Saturday, May 31 the Storm played the Oceanside Fireballs at home and came away with a 5-1 victory. Midfielder Patrick Sakamoto, who played an outstanding game, opened the scoring in the sixth minute on assists from forward John Scuderi and midfielder Kevin Gaffney. The Storm scored again in the 16th minute when midfielder Michael Clausen scored on assists from midfielder Brian Brown and defender Wil Lieberman-Cribbin.
