During the weekend of Aug. 24, the Glen Cove Red Devils played with a U-15 team in the East Meadow Soccer Tournament. They played five very exciting games, winning four and tying one. The last game against a very skillful, strong team from Uniondale was the most exciting. Glen Cove knew they had to win the game to have a chance of winning the championship. Upon being down 1-0 after the first half, they came back to win 2-1.

The team eventually took second place in the tournament on a goal differential. The following players were part of the team: Mike Genova, Matt Donovan, Dennis Grabowski, Ivan Soklov, Jose Alfaro, Andrew Quinones, Cesare Cosentino, Adam Khoresanchi, Zach Rubin, Marcello Zuccaro, Freddi Granados, Manny Garcia, Miguel Alvarado and John Cerna. Guest players were Johnnie Cerna-Ortiz, George Alvarado, Frankie Grella and Daniel Garcia. Other players on the Red Devils were Matt Deneroff, Jack Steinberg and George Anderson.

The team is looking forward to a successful fall season with Coach Mike Ferricchio.
