Glen Cove Memorializes September 11 at Morgan Park
On Wednesday, September 11, the community of Glen Cove gathered at Morgan Park at sundown to honor and remember the victims of the terrorist attacks on New York, Washington DC and Pennsylvania that took place on September 11, 2001. The ceremony was held at the pavilion, overlooking Manhattan. Extraordinarily strong winds did not deter more than 100 men, women and children from attending the ceremony, many dressed in red, white and blue and carried American flags.

Glen Cove Residents Gain Library Vote...Finally
Mayor Mary Ann Holzkamp and Library Board President Michael Maher announce that next spring Glen Cove voters will gain a right that the majority of Nassau County voters already possess. Mayor Mary Ann Holzkamp said, "Our citizens will be able to vote on the Glen Cove library budget and, for the first time, they will have the opportunity to elect five Library Board Trustees."

On Sunday, Sept. 15, the Glen Cove Cardinals Midget White team traveled to Levittown for a two o'clock kick-off versus Levittown Grey, Glen Cove kicked off and forced a Levittown punt on the first series. Levittown responded by stopping Glen Cove on downs. On their second offensive series, Levittown generated a first down and then ran around right end for an apparent 50-yard touchdown, but it was called back on a clipping penalty. Two plays later, Levittown fumbled and Glen Cove recovered.

Glen Cove Hall of Fame Seeks Candidates for Induction
The Glen Cove Hall of Fame is seeking qualified candidates for induction into the Glen Cove Hall of Fame. Inductions will take place at the Hall of Fame Induction Dinner on November 14 at the Swan Club in Glenwood Landing.
