Waterborne Plan: LI Sound Works for Business and Fun
The Long Island Sound Waterborne Transportation Plan Project, more simply known as the Waterborne Plan, is an organization formed for the purpose of exploring potential expansion of transportation facilities around the Long Island Sound area, or, to be more precise, on Long Island Sound. The federally funded project is jointly sponsored by three Metropolitan Planning Organizations: the New York Metropolitan Transportation Council, the Greater Bridgeport Regional Planning Agency, and the Southwestern Regional Planning Agency. The 13-monthlong project will work on developing a plan of waterborne transportation for the 2002-2025 time period.

Teeming Rain for Reigning Team at Glen Cove Homecoming
It was, after all, homecoming, so neither a torrential rain nor a soaked football field could dampen the spirits of Big Red and their fans on Saturday, Oct. 12 as the Glen Cove varsity football team defeated Roslyn High School 32-6. The hard driving rain and a muddy field kept both teams from passing much, so the Big Red pounded out 300 yards rushing behind the steadily improving offensive line of Beisler, Zavarro, Marks, Bautista, and Schneider.

Glen Cove High School Big Red Sports
Big Red varsity volleyball lost their homecoming match to Great Neck North after being up by two games. After many long rallies and great playing by both teams, Glen Cove could not score the crucial points to win a third game. It was a total team effort.

North Shore High School Vikings Sports
North Shore is in the midst of Spirit Week, which will culminate in a day of Homecoming games and other activities at the high school this Saturday. The community is invited to come out and support all the Viking athletes, starting with men's soccer at 1:30 p.m. and ending with Viking football at 8 p.m. under the lights. Other events include a women's soccer game at 3 p.m., pep rally at 4:30 and field hockey game at 6 o'clock.
