Edward T. Ross, 72, of Glen Cove, died on Oct. 15, 2002. Cherished husband of Bonnie and the late Babs Ross. Beloved father of David, Steven and Debra. Stepfather of Cheryl, Michelle and Julie. Treasured grandfather of nine.

Catherine Baratoff (nee Ilovaisky), 95, of Sea Cliff, died on Oct. 20, 2002.

Daughter of the late General M. Ilovaisky Wife of the late Nicholas, son of the late General N.N. Baratoff. She is survived by her children, Nicholas Jr., Catherine Hills and Michael; grandchildren, Elizabeth W. Todd, Nicholas IV, Phillip K. Hills III, Peter K. Hills and Michael C.; great-grandchildren, Wyatt W. Todd, Graceley J. Todd and Mary P. Hills.

William F. Duffy, a longtime resident of Glen Cove and Locust Valley, died on Oct. 24, 2002, at St. Francis Hospital. He was 78 years old.

A WW II veteran and a graduate of Fordham University, Bill was an active member of St. Patrick's Church, serving the church in many capacities for more than 40 years. Bill retired after a 40-year career at the Allstate Insurance Co. in 1992 and for the past decade had lived part of the year in Jupiter, FL. Born in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn in 1924, Bill won a scholarship to Regis High School in Manhattan, where he graduated in 1941. He served in the US Marine Corps in the Asia-Pacific in 1944 and 1945. Bill was the husband of Adeline. Father of Brian, Jack and Christopher. Grandfather of William, Sean, Anne-Nicole, Elizabeth, Robert and Katie. His family and his many friends on LI, in Florida and elsewhere will miss his kindness, intelligence and wonderful sense of humor.
