Today I received a care package from my parents. Inside they included a Record Pilot with my article inside (not front page like I thought...kidding!). After reading through it, I realized how much Glen Cove shaped me into the man I am today.

North Shore Deliberates Tax Increases
In an effort to clarify the effects that recent tax changes in Nassau County will have on the proposed 2003/04 North Shore School budget, the board of education held a special open meeting at the high school on Monday, March 31. Although the school board had no role in the recent reassessment of property in the district or in the amount of tax levied on different types of property, both will greatly impact the calculations for North Shore's school taxes.

Big Red High School Sports
Glen Cove High School boy's varsity lacrosse team opened the 2003 season with a 10-6 win over West Hempstead. The Big Red got on the scoreboard first, with a goal by the Senior Connection of Dom Bocchino and Jason Lindenbaum. Gianluca Carrabs continued the scoring for the Big Red, netting three of his four goals on the day. Jason would close the half on a feed from Mike Kavanaugh giving the Big Red a 5-3 halftime advantage.
