A large contingent of US Marines from the New York metropolitan area will pay tribute to Glen Cove native son Dan Daly with a parade and ceremony on August 10, in the city of his birth, rain or shine. Special honored guest at the parade will be Gunnery Sgt Ernest McMillan, USMC retired, who is the third most decorated Marine in the history of the Marine Corps. FULL STORY

The Comanchees played in a great tournament in Alaska, against strong teams from all around the United States: Arizona, California, New York and Alaska. This was one of the hardest ones the boys played in because they were the youngest team in the tournament. They opened up against an Alaskan team, West Post. Anthony Carrotta got the call, pitching five strong innings with 3 strikeouts, 4 hits. The teams were tied 1 to 1 in the 5th inning when the Comanchees got a break on an error, which opened the door to a 10-1 victory. The team did make 4 errors, but they were able to win this one.
