Housing Authority and Downtown Revisited by Council
Neither snow nor wind nor frigid temperatures could deter the hard-core city council devotees from the meeting that was held on Tuesday, Jan. 27. Glen Cove Republican Leader Tip Henderson, along with a number of members of the Republican Party, waited for the business part of the meeting to finish before taking to the microphone.

AOH Welcomes Newest Lifetime Member
The latest Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) Division 8 member to be conferred with the Lifetime Member Award is John Fitzpatrick, a member of forty years. Born March 22, 1922, he was the eldest child of Agnes and Kieran Fitzpatrick in a close-knit local family of nine children. He attended St. Patrick's in Glen Cove, St. Dominic's in Oyster Bay and St. Michael's in Vermont. After receiving a BA degree, he served four years in the US Navy during World War II. He married his beloved Theresa Hammond from Vermont. They raised four children and are now the doting grandparents of four grandchildren.

Big Red Sports
The annual Glen Cove Holiday Wrestling was once again a great success. All 11 teams that competed complimented the tournament as competitive, enjoyable and very well run. The Big Red wrestlers would like to once again thank the Booster Club for sponsoring the huge event, as well as Linda Perlman, all of the booster and wrestling parents who worked at the tournament, Chris Barry for the TV studio setup, Mr. and Mrs. Myers, Savy Gallo, Steve Tripp, Vince Chopard, Steve Kazyjanski and all the staff and students who helped make the event the success that it was.
