Glen Cove School Board Adopts Budget With 5-2 Vote
The Glen Cove High School library was a packed house on Monday night, April 19, for the adoption by the school board of the 2004-2005 budget.

Glen Isle Offers First Vision of Waterfront
Glen Isle Development Company, LLC and the City of Glen Cove presented the initial plan for the redevelopment of the city's waterfront at a meeting predominated by a power-point presentation that brought applause from the audience, as well as questions.

NSHS Bill Melillo Named Player of the Year
North Shore High School's own Bill Melillo was named to the All-County basketball team in Nassau County for the 2003-2004 season. At the recent Nassau County Awards Dinner, he was also named as Player of the Year in Conference B-C. Last year North Shore recorded 3 wins and 14 losses and this year the team went to the Nassau County finals for the first time in the school's history. Bill led the conference with 21 points per game, 24 rebounds per game, 6 assists and 3 blocks per game. He scored 30 points three times and pulled down over 30 rebounds three times with highs of 34 points and 40 rebounds. He also recorded 2 triple-doubles during the season. North Shore finished this season with an overall 12-6 and an excellent 9-4 record in conference play. Bill was also named to the Nassau County All-Tournament team for the playoffs. Bill is a junior and moves on to the baseball season where he received All-County honors last year as a sophomore. Also receiving honors in basketball for North Shore was senior Chris Galano (12 ppg) and junior Mike Frey (11 ppg). Chris was also named to the Nassau County All-Tournament team for the playoffs. North Shore will miss Chris next year, but the rest of the team is returning so things look good for the North Shore boys basketball team.

North Shore High School Varsity Sports
North Shore downed Port Washington 12-9 Friday for its first game back after spring training in Orlando. Callie Breen and Adrienne Koslow came up big for the Vikings. Breen, a senior, tallied 5 goals and 2 assists, 4 of her goals coming in the second half, while Koslow, a junior, finished with 4 assists. Amanda Longobucco and Ashley Lopez finished with 2 goals apiece. Sophomore goalie Sara Longobucco finished with a total of 7 saves, including two tremendous saves in the second half.
