Skateboarder Jesse Lee McEneaney recently competed in his first competition at the Extreme Skate Park in Mount Sinai, placing fourth in a field of 36 contestants aged 14 to 19 years old. Jesse has been skateboarding for five years now and working on the "extreme" components of the sport, ramps, stairs, ollies and grinds, for three. Not impressed? North Shore sophomore Catie DeStio and senior Amanda Longobucco received silver medals for competing in the NY State Empire Games. Catie, who plays field hockey, enjoyed the experience and strongly urges more athletes to try out for these games. Amanda, an accomplished lacrosse player, won the second place silver medal after her team lost only one game. FULL STORY
