Keyspan Generators on Glenwood Road Will Be Taxed
Since the building of two generators on Shore Road in Glenwood Landing in 2002, LIPA has continually refused to pay property taxes, estimated at $7 million dollars, to the North Shore School District, Nassau County and the Town of Oyster Bay, offering instead a $2 million voluntary Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) with an explanation that the property owned and operated by Keyspan was not taxable because of a "power purchase" agreement with LIPA.

On Nov. 27 at about 8 p.m., Glen Cove Det. Karl Van Allen arrested a 19-year-old man for allegedly beating his girlfriend as well as beating her dog.

Glen Cove HS Bid Red Sports
The Glen Cove girls varsity team completed their season in a strong way. After finishing near the bottom of their conference last year, they improved to third place this year. The last match of the year, against Locust Valley, was a great victory. Big Red had lost in the first round of the season, only to win 6-1 in the final match of the season.
