North Shore Budget Passes; Glen Cove Goes Down
In the 2005-2006 school budget vote, voter turnout for Glen Cove was very high, however, those voting against the budget led those in favor by 72 votes, resulting in 1592 no votes to 1520 yes votes. The proposition allowing the board to add an additional sum, not to exceed $400,000, to fund tax certioraris, and to reserve the right to bond amounts above the $400,000 also failed.

Police Hunt for Killer of Jabbar McBride
The night of Wednesday, May 11, started as a nice spring night. A group of local residents were standing outside the small strip mall across from the Housing Authority on Glen Cove Avenue, a locale that has long been a hub of conversation, food and music, where the older residents sit in chairs, younger ones on the stone wall.

The Vikings entered the last week of the regular season a half game up on Seaford to clinch the conference title. The Vikings would have to take two out of three from the Mineola Mustangs. Also in reach was the possibility of capturing the number two seed in the county if they were able to sweep the series.
