Everyone knows children are our future, and time we invest in kids yields big dividends down the road. But keeping youngsters on the "right path" is more challenging than ever, simply because there are so many negative influences these days. Fortunately, there are also special people who go above and beyond to ensure that our children spend their time productively.
On April 17, Pizazz Studios of Glen Cove performed Oliver at Locust Valley High School. I attended the presentation because my husband played Bill Sykes. I also try to support fellow BID members whenever possible. To say I was blown away by the performance would be a gross understatement! Everyone was tremendous, and it was apparent that a good deal of time and effort had been spent in preparation. The head of the Pizazz team is Patti Kreiner, who deserves much praise for her tireless dedication. Patti is truly making a difference by having such a positive influence on our youth.
I strongly urge everyone to check out future Pizazz productions. I also suggest that parents consider getting their children involved at Pizazz. Through the experience, kids acquire self-confidence and learn about commitment and working as a team. But best of all, instead of hanging out with the "wrong crowd," they spend time in the presence of individuals well worth their emulation.
