The annual Glen Cove Mayor's Snapper Derby at the Pryibil Beach fishing pier is the morning of Saturday, Aug. 20, rain or shine. Young residents of Glen Cove ages 6 through 16 should grab the required rod and reel for great fishing and wonderful prizes.
Registration is only on Aug. 20 from 8:15 through 9:30 a.m., no exceptions. Fishing will be from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. The Junior Division is for boys and girls ages 6 through 10; the Senior Division is for girls and boys ages 11 through 16 years old. While supplies last, each registrant will receive a T-shirt, hot dog and soda, and a raffle ticket for prizes. At the end of the derby, first, second and third place trophies will be given in each division. In addition, the Best Aangler title will be awarded that day. All winners must be present to claim their prize.
This great Glen Cove fishing tradition is once again organized by the Glen
