Jamie Downer won the Player of the Year Award at the Nassau County Softball Coaches Association All-County Dinner. The award is the highest honor an athlete can win for her or his sport in Nassau County. Jamie has always been admired as a student, an athlete and a person of high values. Her highlights in high school softball include receiving a full scholarship to Stony Brook University, three time All-State player, two time All-Long Island player, four time All-County player, two time MVP and Nassau County Softball Coaches Association Leadership Scholarship Award winner.

North Shore High School Vikings Sports
The Vikings season ended with a 2-0 loss to Wantagh in the playoffs. The team's overall record this year was an impressive 15-6, with a 9-4 league record. Several varsity players earned awards as a result of their play this season. Those players were Meg Schenkel and Kelly Henry (All-County); Amanda Magnuson and Liz Cottell (All-Conference); and Kiki Palazzo, Lauren Silka, and Liz Muscarello (All-Division).
