Batter Up! The Glen Cove Junior Baseball/Softball opening day parade and games have been postponed to April 21 instead of April 14 as originally planned. Because of the ice storm two weeks ago and its aftermath, our baseball fields would not be in top-notch condition for our youngsters to begin the season. Glen Cove Junior Baseball/Softball and the City of Glen Cove decided to postpone opening day to ensure the safety of all players as well as to protect the integrity of the fields.

While Major League Baseball may have started its season (unlike ours, their fields are covered all winter), the extra week's time will give our parks department crew the ability to give the fields the care they need while making sure that Glen Cove's future major leaguers have the advantage of a safe home field.
