All hands on deck this Saturday, May 5 at 9 a.m. for the City of Glen Cove Beautification Commission's spring cleanup of Mill Pond. The pond is temporarily drained and the floodgates locked, making the area accessible for the work to be done.

North Shore High School Viking Sports
The North Shore men's lacrosse team began this week with a convincing victory over Great Neck North, 18-8. The Vikings struggled to take control of the game in the first half and went into halftime with a slim 7-5 lead. Led by senior Ronnie Irving (four goals, five assists) North Shore came out firing in the second half and opened up a 15-7 lead by the end of the third quarter. The rest of the Viking scoring was produced by Tommy Kilderry with five goals, Robbie Grabher with three goals, Joe Nakashian with two goals, and Keith Lopez, Zach Venditto, Ryan Crowley, and Eric Gruebel each with a goal a piece. For Venditto, Crowley, and Gruebel, these goals marked the first of their varsity career.

Glen Cove High School Big Red Sports
Riding their first winning streak, the Big Red went to Portledge to take part in the Portledge Invitational. Rye Country Day School was the first round opponent, and quickly, the Big Red found itself down 2-0. Peter Michaleas put the Big Red on the board, but another Rye goal made the score 3-1 at the end of the first quarter.
