Parade Committee Honors Two at the Forefront
At the Glen Cove Memorial Day Commemoration on Monday, May 28, the Memorial Day Parade Committee honored two of Glen Cove's most dedicated veterans, American Legion Young-Simmons Post #1765's James Middleton and Willibe Wilson, for their decades of unselfish and tireless work in taking the parade to the streets each year. While the men are thanked annually, 2007 was the year they were singled out at the ceremony and presented with citations by Mayor Ralph V. Suozzi and Vincent Martinez, Sr. on behalf of the entire parade committee.

Glen Cove Pays Tribute to War Dead on Memorial Day
Glen Cove was awash in red, white, blue and camouflage on Monday, May 28 for the city's annual Memorial Day Commemoration and Parade. Armed Forces personnel and veterans, city, county and state dignitaries, and hundreds of citizens came out to honor America's sons and daughters who made the ultimate sacrifice during war, to thank those who served and came home, and to pray for the safe return of our troops currently serving in harm's way.

North Shore's Relay for Life begins on Saturday, June 2, at 7 p.m. and concludes Sunday, June 3, at 7 a.m. at the North Shore High School Track.

Glen Cove High School Big Red Sports
What a season Big Red Varsity Lacrosse had, led by nine terrific seniors who always gave everything to the team both on and off the field. The coaches say a huge thank you and wish them all good luck in college. All have been accepted, with Jamie Carlson and Kelley Cunningham receiving lacrosse scholarships. The other elite senior players are Jillian Cavallo, Joanna Cavallo, Meghan Wall, Julia Rossel, Brenda Weck, Clare Germino and Mariel Frederickson.
