Mayor Suozzi Appointed to NYCOM Committee
Glen Cove Mayor Ralph V. Suozzi has been appointed to the eight-member Nominating Committee of the NY State Conference of Mayors (NYCOM). The selection was made by NYCOM President Mayor Joseph Delfino of the City of White Plains.

CDA/IDA Open Meeting Goes Behind Closed Doors
More than 50 community members showed up for a special meeting of the Glen Cove Community Development Agency (CDA), held jointly with the Industrial Development Agency (IDA) on Tuesday, June 5 at Glen Cove City Hall for discussion of the waterfront redevelopment. In the group were employees and representatives of Glen Isle Partners, including principals Don Monti and Michael Posillico, Darren Monti and attorney Richard Hamburger.

North Shore Raises $140,000 for Relay for Life
This past weekend, hundreds of North Shore community members filled the North Shore High School track to participate for the first time in the American Cancer Society's fundraiser called Relay for Life, raising $140,000 (and still counting) for this important cause. Relay for Life is the name given to those events where people of all ages come together to remember loved ones lost to cancer, celebrate cancer survivors and caregivers, and gain inspiration for the continued fight against the disease.

Glen Cove High School Big Red Sports
The Big Red girls varsity track team season is almost completed. Team member Danielle Silas will be competing in the State Track Meet in Kingston, NY on June 8 and 9. Danielle qualified in the intermediate hurdles and will represent Section VIII athletics when she competes. Danielle, her family and her coaches are very excited and certainly wish her the greatest success at this prestigious track meet.
