The North Shore Vikings defeated the Whitestone Wanderers to win the Intermediate Division (15-16) of the Frank Tempone Tournament hosted by the Greater New York Sandlot Athletic Alliance. The tournament was held at Juniper Valley Park in Queens from June 30 - July 2 and featured three LICM teams in two different divisions.

The Vikings completed the tournament undefeated, winning games in all three preliminary rounds prior to the championship. In what turned out to be a championship game between LICM teams, the Vikings were matched against Whitestone for the third time in a period of eight days. On June 24, the two teams met in a regularly scheduled LICM doubleheader. Whitestone qualified for the championship game by also going undefeated in the preliminary rounds, winning two games, along with one tie.

LICM congratulates all teams that participated in the Frank Tempone Tournament. In 11 games, LICM teams compiled an overall record of 8-2-1 and represented their league proudly and professionally.
