Arrest Made in Sea Cliff Bar Bias Attack
According to Lt. Albert Anderson of the Nassau County Police Department's Sixth Squad, the police have arrested a homeless man for a bias-related robbery of a former Top Chef television program contender and three other women outside the bar Partners in Sea Cliff the night of Sept. 1.

Glen Cove Emergency Reverse 911 System Up and Running
On Aug. 28, Mayor Ralph V. Suozzi signed a contract with SWIFT 911 to establish a Reverse 911 system with the capability to contact and notify all Glen Cove residents in the event of an emergency and also to notify residents as appropriate for non-emergency activities or events throughout the city.

North Shore High School Viking Sports
Opening day was a great day for the North Shore football program. The JV set the tone in the morning with a 12-8 victory over Cold Spring Harbor. The varsity followed with an impressive 38-20 win over Cold Spring Harbor. Junior and quarterback Bobby Magnuson was 6-for-12 passing for a total of 184 yards in the air. He completed three touchdown passes and had two interceptions on defense. Two of the three touchdown passes were to senior Mike Lennon who had two touchdowns and 143 yards receiving. Senior and tight end Ian Hnatov had the other touchdown when he dove to catch Magnuson's pass. Senior running back Taylor McGrath had 12 carries for 84 yards and two rushing touchdowns. The Vikings finished the day with 318 yards of total offense. The Vikings' next game is Sunday, Sept. 22, at Roosevelt High School. Kickoff is 2 p.m.
