Suozzi signed a contract with SWIFT 911 to establish a Reverse 911 system with the capability to contact and notify all Glen Cove residents in the event of an emergency and also to notify residents as appropriate for non-emergency activities or events throughout the city. Opening day was a great day for the North Shore football program. The JV set the tone in the morning with a 12-8 victory over Cold Spring Harbor. The varsity followed with an impressive 38-20 win over Cold Spring Harbor. Junior and quarterback Bobby Magnuson was 6-for-12 passing for a total of 184 yards in the air. He completed three touchdown passes and had two interceptions on defense. Two of the three touchdown passes were to senior Mike Lennon who had two touchdowns and 143 yards receiving. Senior and tight end Ian Hnatov had the other touchdown when he dove to catch Magnuson's pass. Senior running back Taylor McGrath had 12 carries for 84 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
