I enjoyed your Thursday, Nov. 29, issue which highlighted the Christmas and Festival of Lights (Hanukkah) seasons on the front page.
On Page 2, you had articles inviting us to a Sea Cliff Hanukkah party and a Christmas Tree Lighting by the Village of Sea Cliff. The Boy Scouts, whose motto used to be "For God and Country," are selling wreaths as a fundraiser, but I guess they are not selling Christmas, or more appropriately, Advent wreaths.
Congratulations to some of your advertisers who had the courage to use the word Christmas and/or Hanukkah in their ads, which include Wild Tulip, Port Washington Tennis Academy and Ben's Kosher Deli.
The ad placed by the Jewish Congregation of Brookville is excellent, since it summarizes the historical meaning of Hanukkah and its significance today.
