The North Shore Men's lacrosse team has dropped their last two games in hard fought battles against Floral Park High School and Port Washington.
Against Floral Park the Vikings went down early, but fought back from a five-goal deficit in the first quarter to tie the score mid-way through the fourth quarter. Stepping up on defense to help mount the comeback was senior Paul Wefer and junior goalkeeper Alec Volpe. Offensively, North Shore was lead by goals from seniors Keith Lopez and Robbie Grabher. Despite their best efforts, the Vikings were unable to surmount the early lead taken by Floral Park and eventually fell to a final score of 15-13.
North Shore then traveled to Port Washington and again was forced to fight back from a quick start by the opposition. This time, leading the comeback were midfielders Greg Puskuldjian and Matt Cunningham on offense and Steve Cottel and Nick Caparelli on the defensive end. The Vikings did not quit and were able to pull to within three midway through the fourth quarter. But the early deficit proved too large to overcome and North Shore lost by a score of 12-9.
