Downtown Sounds, 7:30 p.m.

Hear the music of Andy Aledort and the Groove Kings featuring Chris Kinnear, and the opening act, local favorites Times Ten as the Downtown Sounds Concert Series continues in Glen Cove Village Square Plaza. In the case of rain, the concert will be moved indoors to Wunsch Arts Center at Finley Middle School.

Smushed Face First Annual Luau

 In Home Pet Services will hold their first Annual Smushed Face Luau Party, taking place at Petco of Glen Cove, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Pet parents of smushed face dog breeds can bring their pups in the cutest Hawaiian outfits for the costume contest. Professional photos will be available for purchase of the smushed face pooches in attendance, and the proceeds from the photos will be donated to Glen Cove Animal Lovers League. There will also be giveaways for the attendees at the event while supplies last. Morgan Park Summer Music Festival

7:30 p.m.

Real Diamond, the Neil Diamond tribute band, will perform in Morgan Park. This is the last concert of the season. The concert is free and open to the public.

Antique Show

The Sea Cliff Good of the Village Association will hold its 8th annual Antique Show on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. To 4 p.m. at the St. Boniface Field on Sea Cliff Ave.

National Safety Council’s Defensive Driving Course 

Attend the defensive driving course for insurance and point reduction to learn the techniques of safe driving. It is also a fundraiser for St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 235 Glen Street, Glen Cove. The course will go from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes a lunch break). St John of Lattingtown 61st Annual Fall Fair

St John’s 61st Annual Fall fair will be on Saturday, Sept. 7, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a  special preview  at 9 a.m. for those who wish to have a first opportunity to purchase at the many booths. The co-chairs Victoria Crosby and Carlyle Dunaway announced that the theme this year will be the circus.  The young and young at heart are encouraged to express their inner circus performer. There will be circus themed entertainment and a petting zoo, as well as the annual exciting events such as the drum circle, the Gordon Highlanders Bagpipe parade,and lots of good old fashioned family fun. Booths,  which  are organized by volunteer parishioners, include, books, sporting goods, antiques and collectibles, jewelry, furniture,  children’s clothes and toys, Christmas items, plants, a silent auction, face painting, bouncy rides and games for the children. Hamburgers and hot dogs are served from noon until 4 p.m.

Admission is $5 per person, free to children under 12 and the special 9 a.m. preview is $20 per person.

The Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club will host a clothing and accessories sale on Friday, Sept. 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Glen Cove Adult Day Program

This program for the frail, elderly seniors is available Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is located on the lower level of the Glen Cove Senior Center, at 130 Glen Street in Glen Cove. The program is a warm, inviting and secure place to spend the day with a caring, experienced, and responsive staff. Transportation is provided to residents of Glen Cove and some surrounding communities. Lunch and snacks are served daily.
