Free Tax Assistance

The Glen Cove Library will again offer free tax assistance on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. throughout the tax season.  This service is available to individuals of all ages and is not limited to senior citizens.  Assistance will be provided by AARP trained volunteer instructors on a first-come-first-served basis.  Please be sure to bring your tax package, W-2 forms, a copy of your 2012 tax return and all other information that might be helpful in correctly determining your tax refund.


Zumba/Cardio Dance Night

Dance the night away with the YMCA of Glen Cove’s Zumba/cardio dance instructors as they host a two-hour evening of dance to raise money for the American Heart Association. The evening’s class runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Y’S gymnasium.  A $1 donation or any donation will get you a mini-red-dress pin or a paper heart along with two hours of heart-pumping, blood flowing, energy, dance, music and fun. Come enjoy the Y’s very talented instructors who will have you coming back for more: Alize, Kate, Michael, Mimi and Shorey. Don’t forget to wear red. Come, see and hear the amazing North Shore medium Mary Drew from 7 to 11 p.m. $45 per person (includes hot hors d’oeuvres, soda, coffee, tea, dessert and one free raffle ticket). Defensive Driving Course

The Gold Coast Lions Club is continuing its series of defensive driving classes.  The classes will be held on Saturdays in the Sea Cliff Village Hall, 300 Sea Cliff Avenue, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Please note revised class time and please enter building through the library.  Class dates are March 1, April 12 and June 14.  Please bring your lunch and a pen to class.  The cost is $40 per person.  Please make check payable to Gold Coast Lions Club and send to P.O.
