Students from North Shore High School recently paid a visit to the Great Neck Water Pollution Control District (GNWPCD), toured the facility, learned facts about the district and closely observed the Biofuel station and equipment.
“Our ongoing commitment and dedication to community outreach and education are reflected through the many tours we hold for local students and organizations,” explained Great Neck Water Pollution Control District Superintendent Christopher Murphy. Superintendent Murphy guided visitors through the wastewater treatment process and equipment on-site, including the ultraviolet disinfection system and recently completed oxidation ditch that will decrease the GNWPCD’s environmental impact.
