Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce Awards Deserving Graduate Harrison Balisky

On July 9 at La Bussola Ristorante, during a regularly scheduled board of directors meeting, The Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce presented the annual Future Business Leaders Scholarship Award to the winner of 2008, Harrison Balisky. This award was first presented to the recipient during the Celebrate Glen Cove Gala held last October at the Brookville Country Club. The recipient of this award receives funds towards their college expenses. Any graduating senior who resides in Glen Cove can apply for this scholarship. An essay is part of the requirement along with a completed application.

Both are available for this year’s upcoming Gala at the Chamber office or will be posted in local newspapers. Deadline to apply is October 1. The Chamber is honored to be part of helping the city’s youth become future business leaders.

This year’s Gala will be held at the Crescent Beach Club in Bayville on Sunday, October 25, beginning at 6 p.m. Details will be forthcoming in all local publications or contact the Chamber office.

The Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce is one of the oldest organizations in the city, established in 1920. Its mission is to enhance the health and profitability of its member businesses.
